Forecasting in Economics

Economics as a social science is very different to the physical sciences.

Dealing with people makes it very hard to forecast behaviour. But a great opinion piece by Tim Harford here on what we can learn from meteorology on forecasting that can help economists get better at it.

A common Oxbridge interview area is to get applicants to show they have actually THOUGHT about their chosen discipline, as a discipline, as opposed to purely the content they are being taught.
