Economics: The User’s Guide

A very useful introduction to the discipline of Economics, in particular for those people who want to learn more about the history of Economics. The section on the different schools of economics thought stand out as a great introduction to this aspect of Economics, something that is these days missed off A-level Economics syllabi.

One interesting factoid that stayed with me from this book was about the nature of the Singaporean economy and the challenge to the assumption that it is an economy that has grown via free-market policies.

I see this book as very useful for those serious about studying Economics beyond A-level, or for those in the early weeks of macroeconomics who want a more solid understanding of economic frameworks.
